Through the internet may I welcome you and your friends to one of the greatest experiences of a lifetime; helping 3rd world children receive an education with compassion; enabling them to become empowered and independent. Not only are we helping the children but improving the quality of lives for all the folks in three different impoverished communities. Also familiarizing school children as to the struggle for the Silverbacks/chimpanzees survival and awareness of protecting their habitat is absolutely critical!
When you meet the children and they hug you with unconditional love while not looking for anything in return; is absolutely overwhelming.
It's the eyes, the smiles, the distended stomachs from malnutrition, the women working endlessly in the fields, the magnificent animals living in the wild and huge vastness of land...it all captures your heart!
You walk away from Uganda knowing you have to help...you have to give back. I was one of the believers in "helping our own country first" but after seeing the intense poverty and kindness of the people...your decision is automaticly made.
In Gods eyes we are all the same and in this world together. Each of us has a job, a mission and reason to exist. Mine is Africa and I implore you to join me for a day, a week, a year or how long your heart desires. I promise you a gift of love beyond compare. |
